Introducing Duke of Ed digital credentialing

March 4, 2025

More powerful than a printed certificate!

Today, the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia has introduced digital credentials to recognise the achievement of a Duke of Ed Level. This is a new and exciting way for a young person who has completed a Duke of Ed Bronze, Silver or Gold Level to showcase their skill development online with real time verification.

A Duke of Ed digital badge transforms knowledge, skills and achievements into digital credentials that empower individuals to connect with learning and career opportunities.

Peter Kaye AM ESM, of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia says, “As the leader in the accreditation of non-formal education and learning, the Duke of Ed continues to evolve and adopt modern ways a young person can showcase their achievements to meet the increasing demand of today’s employers and tertiary education providers. Having a digital credential is a much faster, simpler and more trusted way for a young person to share proof and further details of their learning and life experience through using the Duke of Ed.”

A young person will be provided a unique link to simply share their digital credentials via online job and tertiary applications, via social media sites such as LinkedIn, via email and by embedding a link into their resume.

Anyone who completes a Duke of Ed Bronze, Silver or Gold Level from 04 March 2025 onwards will automatically be issued with an invitation to accept the corresponding digital badge. Additionally, those that have completed a Duke of Ed Level in the past 12 months, will also be issued a digital badge.
