New Handbook Out Now!

November 28, 2024

Our biggest transformation of the Handbook since the Duke of Ed started in Australia!

We’re thrilled to unveil the latest edition of our Duke of Ed Handbook. This edition is our most significant update yet, driven by valuable feedback from our Leaders and our wider Duke of Ed community ensuring it is fit for purpose.

Peter Kaye AM ESM, CEO of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia says, “We recognised the need to cater for different preferences in how our audience processes large amounts of information. This latest edition of The Duke of Ed Handbook is a 27% reduction in page numbers without compromising on the integrity of the content. The team have worked hard to achieve a streamlined, more user-friendly experience designed to support and guide our Duke of Ed Leaders.”

The Handbook forms the basis of everything Duke of Ed Framework related. How we use and refer to vital documents such as this continues to evolve and so we’re excited to share this new, vibrant and visually engaging edition, offering a major content review including:

  • Improved structure, making it easier to find what you are looking for.
  • Each topic listed in the table of contents can be accessed directly via hyperlink to the relevant page.
  • Consolidation of duplicated Framework information into a new Chapter (Chapter 3 – Using the Duke of Ed Framework).
  • The removal of former Chapter 9 – Adventurous Journey Guidelines as these guidelines did not constitute a part of the conditions or requirements of The Duke of Ed.
  • A visual refresh aligning with the updated brand guidelines and industry best practices to optimise your user experience including the introduction of explanatory graphics for better clarity
