Earlier this month, four Duke of Ed Participants were rewarded for their Voluntary Service to World Vision, receiving a once in a lifetime opportunity. These Participants were gifted flights, accommodation and tickets to the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 in South Africa – an annual festival for individuals who have been engaged in exceptional community service. This year the Concert was held in celebration of the centenary year of Nelson Mandela.

Bronze and Silver Award Participants Lucy Stevens (SA), Zuhal Masudy (VIC) ,Ellen Streat (VIC), and Hannah Owen (WA) each raised over $1000 by taking part in World Vision’s 40 Hour Famine Backpack Challenge, an achievement that put them in the running for the trip. All four young women share the same desire to create positive change in the world around them.

While they were there, they also were able to visit World Vision programming in Bulawayo Zimbabwe and see the change World Vision effects through its projects.

The young women were able to see performances by headlining stars; Beyoncé & JAY Z, Ed Sheeran, Usher, and Pharrell Williams!

Congratulations Lucy, Zuhal, Ellen and Hannah on all your hard work, your trip was well deserved!
