A summary of Award achievements by HRH, The Earl of Wessex during his 2018 visit to Australia in promoting and raising funds for The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award:

  • 40 engagements with 32 main events
  • 105 Gold Awards Presented
  • 17 Long Service Medals and 2 Distinguished Service Medals presented
  • Duke of Ed Employer Launched in 3 States with 40 new employers secured
  • Duke 4Sport launched with 4 sports, including  NSW Rugby League and Gymnastics Australia
  • Endorsements from 10 Universities and 2 TAFEs for partnership discussions
  • Endorsements from SA Government regarding Juvenile Justice pilot
  • Recognised current Award Ambassadors and supporters with 56 attending events
  • Met with over 330 Award Participants and Award Leaders from 63 Award Centres
  • Strengthened Government relations with attendance and engagement from 2 Premiers, 6 Ministers and 13 Heads of Government departments, 13 Mayors and Council CEOs
  • Grew contacts with the corporate community, with 119 business leaders and executives attending functions
  • Secured a major delivery partner in Victoria with Yooralla and engaged with 18 current or prospective delivery partners

Secured 36 new Award Ambassadors with 5 pending (Victoria and Tasmania)

Secured over $1.1 million in new donations to be used for making the Award accessible to more youth in Australia!
