The Hon. Larry Anthony is a former Federal Minister for Community Services and Social Security in the Howard government. Mr Anthony is a professional company director having served on numerous private, public ASX200, and GOC companies. He is currently the Director of SAS Group and was appointed Chairman of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia by His Excellency the Governor General on 1 July, 2005. Larry retired from his Chairmanship of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia in March 2012 and has now taken up the role of Chairman of The Friends of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Australia. In 2015 Mr Anthony became Federal President of the National Party of Australia.
Andrew MURRAY AM – DEPUTY CHAIRMAN
AM BSc, BE (Civil), MBA
Andrew’s current position is Director, Wealth Management at Ord Minnett Limited. He graduated as a Civil engineer in 1966 and worked as a Consulting Engineer for 20 years before moving to the Investment industry in 1987. Andrew is an Honorary Fellow of Sydney University and an Honorary Fellow of St Andrews College where he was Chairman of the Council. He has been involved in Rugby Union as a past President of Sydney University Football Club & Australian Universities as well a past Director of NSW Rugby Union and Deputy Chairman of Australian Rugby Union. Andrew has been a Board member and a Trustee of the National Parks & Wildlife Foundation of NSW and a Member of the Friends of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Andrew was awarded an Australian Sports Medal in 2000 and made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2016.
The Hon. Sandra NORI – SECRETARY
Sandra Nori is a former Minister for NSW and member of NSW Parliament from 1988-2007. She held ministerial portfolios in Tourism, Small Business, Sport & Recreation, Major Events & Venues, and Women, and was Minister Assisting the Minister for State Development. Sandra has held several parliamentary committee roles and previously served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer and Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Premier and Minister for Health.
Following nearly two decades in parliament, Sandra commenced a non-executive director career providing her expertise to private and NFP sectors. Some current and recent appointments include: Director, Dance Health Alliance; Chair, World Dance Sport Ethics Committee; Member, Amnesty International’s Membership Committee; Councillor, Macquarie University Council where she also served on several of the Council’s Committees; Chair, Taekwondo NSW; Chair, Komosion Pty Ltd, a digital marketing software firm; Board Member, NSW TAFE Commission; Advisory Board Member, Luxury Travel Magazine; Board Member, Global Panel Foundation; and Board Member, Domain Resorts and Residences.
Sandra is currently appointed to both the National Board of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia as the Deputy Chair, and the Board of The Friends of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Australia where she is Secretary. In 2019, Sandra was awarded a Gold Distinguished Service Medal. This upgraded a previous recognition of a Silver Distinguished Service Medal in 2017. Sandra is the joint first person to receive both Gold and Silver Distinguished Service Medals, recognising
her significant contributions to The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia.
Tom MOULD AO
B Ed, Dip Teaching, GAICD, JP
Tom was a primary school teacher, school principal and senior executive in the Queensland Department of Education for 25 years. He is currently Chairman of Pareto Phone, Smoke Alarms Australia, Trade Glass Depot Group and The Hilton Misso Group. He is Managing Director of Merchant Place Investments. He also serves as a non-executive director in construction, education services and property development companies. He is an independent director, company secretary and treasurer of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia. Tom is also a Director of The Friends of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Australia. He was appointed as an Officer in the Order of Australia (AO) in 2019.
Cameron Smart has 30 successful years of experience in the commercial property industry. Cameron began his career with Craig Miller Pty Ltd where he was responsible for the property and asset management of a portfolio of commercial properties, gained experience as a property valuer as well as exposure to court work in the areas of land acquisition, resumption and family law. Throughout his career with several high profile property companies including Richard Stanton & Sons and Landsburys International (of which he was a founder), he has been responsible for investment sales and acquisitions for and on behalf of high net worth individuals, property trusts and institutions. Cameron has also become involved with some of Australia’s leading institutions, guiding their investment and development strategies, in particular the Uniting Church in Australia. Cameron has been an active committee member of BOMA (the forerunner to the FCA) and a non-executive Director of the Uniting Church Trust Association, a role which he held for some 13 years. Throughout his involvement with the Uniting Church, Cameron has served on School Councils, The Board of Education (the church’s governing body for its educational and conference activities) and Burnside Home. Cameron is currently on the National Board of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia. Cameron is a Non Executive Director of Providence Philanthropic Foundation. Cameron is currently appointed to both the National Board of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award- Australia where he serves as Assistant Treasurer, and the Board of The Friends of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Australia where he is the Treasurer.
David SANDERS B Bus, FCA
David graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and is currently a partner in the Adelaide office Assurance practice of EY. A qualified chartered accountant and registered company auditor (ASIC), David manages a wide variety of clients that range from small businesses to large corporate and government organisations. David is a Board Member of Zoos SA, Lifecare, Believe Foundation and Prince Alfred College, as well as Chairman of Moo Premium Foods Pty Ltd and the Advisory Board of Terandi Group. Additionally, David is involved with the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award through his roles as Chairman for SA Friends of the Award and was appointed a Board Member for the National and Friends Boards in 2016.
Charlie was born in the UK and relocated to Sydney, Australia in 2003 and is now married with three Children. Charlie is a Gold Award Holder, having completed her Award as a student of Gordonstoun School. Charlie has 20 years of post-graduate experience, primarily in SMEs within both private and public sector environment. She holds a B.Sc (Hons) in PE, Sports Science & Recreation management from Loughborough University. Charlie served as a British Policewoman before commencing a career in travel with the Flight Centre UK where she excelled in sales and leadership, progressing to Area Leader of London and the UK Executive team. Charlie used her experience to mentor and coach small business teams in Sydney upon relocation. Charlie has held numerous leadership and project roles and has demonstrated achievements in general management, sales, operations and procurement with the majority of her work in the sports, travel, events and corporate hospitality industries. Most recently, Charlie has returned to police service, joining the NSW Police Force.
Angus is a Partner at KPMG. For the past 3 years he has led the National Transactions Group for KPMG Australia and also leads the Regional M&A Tax Practice. Angus has extensive tax expertise in Australia, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
A graduate of the University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Angus is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Angus is a Member of the Advisory Board of NSW Positive Rugby Foundation, Board member of Sydney University Football Club and a Board member of NSW Country Positive Rugby Foundation.
