Gold Level Unlocked!

August 5, 2025

Celebrating Dedication, Growth and Grit

Last week, the NSW team proudly hosted back-to-back Gold Level Ceremonies, recognising the remarkable achievements of around 240 young people.

Among them was Scott from Sydney, who completed his Gold Level through Muscular Dystrophy NSW.

Peter Kaye AM ESM, CEO of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Australia, first met Scott back in 2018 at a GWS Giants AFL game. Fast forward to 2025, and it was a truly special moment to see Scott and his mum celebrating this milestone at the Gold Level Ceremony, hosted by the Office of Sport NSW.

Scott’s journey captures the very spirit of the Duke of Ed - resilience, purpose, personal growth, and a strong sense of community.

Scott, we couldn’t be prouder. You’ve not only completed your Duke of Ed Gold Level, but you’ve consistently shown up for others in meaningful and inspiring ways.

This is so much more than a certificate. It’s a reflection of the extraordinary young adult you are becoming. Congratulations! We can’t wait to see what’s next in your journey!
