After witnessing the devastating impact of the bushfires, Cate decided that for her Voluntary Service she would try and raise money two charities that were close to her heart: WIRES and WWS Foundation.
She was initially going to do a bake sale by making treats on Sunday and then selling them on Monday at school however due to COVID-19 her idea of Monday Munchies was cut short. She quickly recovered though by coming up with the idea of making hair scrunchies and selling them instead. Cate makes the scrunchies during the week and then sells them on Friday at school.
She even has an online order form where students and teachers can pick a fabric and a design to order a custom one. Her Award Leader Emily has been a big support saying that they are great quality and posting about it on the schools digital noticeboard.
So far she has raised over $360 for her charities.
