Adventure Kokoda
Adventure Kokoda has led more than 600 expeditions with more than 7,000 trekkers safely across the Kokoda Trail over the past 29 years.
Adventure Kokoda is a specialist Kokoda Trail trekking company.
Adventure Kokoda is an approved Foreign Enterprise to conduct Kokoda treks in Papua New Guinea in compliance with PNG legal requirements.
Our trek leaders have a combined total of 160 years professional military experience in Australia and overseas – they are expert expedition leaders and practitioners in ‘the Art of Leadership’.
Our program was developed by Major Charlie Lynn OAM OL who was awarded the title ‘Officer of Logohu’ by the PNG Government in their 2015 New Year’s Honours List ‘for service to the bilateral relations between Papua New Guinea and Australia and especially in the development of the Kokoda Trail and its honoured place in the history of both nations’.
Charlie has also established Network Kokoda as a Not-For-Profit company which is the largest provider of philanthropic support for subsistence villagers along the Kokoda Trail.
Kokoda provides many practical leadership examples – good and bad – and as the trek progresses through the various wartime battlefield presentations these lessons are revealed through briefing and discussion which informs students of the characteristics and qualities required to be an effective leader.
Participants who wish to ‘leave a footprint’ behind may do so by becoming involved with Network Kokoda after they return home.

One And All
The ship, STV One And All, has provided over 30 years of service to the community. Commissioned on 5th April 1987, she has been actively providing opportunities to all levels in the community, with approx. 10,000 students that have experienced the unique youth development programs to date.
Voyages for Award Participants between the ages of 15 – 19 are able to experience a challenging and rewarding life-changing adventure. The aim is to bring together these youth that come from individual locations and backgrounds, that will have the opportunity to forge new friendships, teamwork, learn life skills and be challenged at their own boundaries.
All social media and personal devices will take a break from their daily lives, so that the skills of looking, listening, and communicating to their fellow adventurer become central. This will become very important in the survival and teamwork needed to get the ship sailing and respecting “Mother Nature” at work on the high seas.
Sailing aboard the STV One and All is a dynamic personal development program during which lifelong skills are learnt through challenge and adventure. It is an intensive work and social experience, where each Award Participant is presented with the challenge of acquiring skills to operate a Tall Ship, safely, at sea. Meeting the challenge conveys a sense of achievement and self-worth.
The program’s objectives are to develop:
- Self-esteem through confidence and a healthier respect for one’s self.
- Sensitivity to others as well as the physical environment.
- Team skills through an awareness of the interdependent nature of a community, and
- Maturity and a positive attitude through self-discipline, setting and achieving goals.
The key element is; one cannot walk away from a challenge at sea. Meeting the challenge is a highly motivating experience.
