Duke of Ed paves path of leadership and adventure for Aurukun Youth

A growing number of Aurukun youth are seeing the benefits of the Duke of Ed on an individual and community level.

A growing cohort of Aurukun youth, in Far North Queensland, are drawing inspiration and developing leadership skills through using the Duke of Ed Framework, with thanks to the support from their Award Leaders at PCYC Aurukun.

“Regardless of whether a young person is looking to earn their Bronze, Silver or Gold Award, they’re constantly improving and developing their leadership and personal effectiveness through goal setting, self-management, teamwork and commitment.

“The nature of the (Duke of Ed Framework) requires the young person to be very motivated and self-driven.” (Dean Woods - General Manager community, Cultural and Social Innovation, PCYC Queensland)
